About Us

Feel Like A Pro is a family owned and operated business, based out of Northern California. Started by Brian Bartlow in 2009, it was purchased by Dave and Guru Niyam Seyl in 2013. Ryan and Michelle Peterson purchased it in 2020.

Meet Ryan

Ryan Peterson at Sonoma

Ryan served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and is now retired from active duty. He is an Air Force JROTC teacher in Sacramento by day but is thrilled to to spend his non workdays at various racetracks around California. Motorcycles of all types have been his passion as long as he can remember, especially growing up with grandparents that owned a Suzuki dealership (I think his grandfather would roll over in his grave if he knew we were partnered with Kawasaki). Ryan was initially a textbook “SQUID” when he first started riding on the road when he was stationed in Las Vegas. He really learned the ropes of road riding when he moved to Italy. He made “quick” friends with a phenomenal group of highly skilled riders from the Desmo Owners Club (DOC) of Pordenone, Italy who mentored him out of the SQUID phase and taught him how not only to survive on a high powered sportbike, but also how to do it safely and effectively. His first track day was Ducati sponsored event with the group in 2001 at little track in Adria, Italy and he has been hooked ever since. Ryan has been paying the kindness and education of DOC Pordenone forward as a mentor rider, motorcycle safety representative for the Air Force, as the Safety Officer for the Sacramento DOC, and as an on track coach for our partner Fun Track Dayz. Ryan has raced motocross, desert, enduro and was just awarded his Expert Road Racing License with the American Federation of Motorcyclist (AFM) and will be running #100 for his first expert year. His motorcycles include his first bike that he got on his 3rd birthday, a Suzuki JR50, Yamaha YZ60, Suzuki DS80, KTM 350, Ninja 250, Ninja 500, Katana 600, Ninja ZX9R, Ducati 996s, BMW R1100s, CRF450X, Monster 620ie, BMW R1150RT, Ducati Multistrada Enduro 1200, Yamaha R6 (x2) and of course the Ninja 400!

"I've ridden dozens of motorcycles in my life, the Ninja 400 is one of the most fun I think I've ever had on a bike." ~RP

Meet Michelle

Michelle at Thunderhill in 2019

Michelle is also a veteran who served in the Air Force for 12 years as an air traffic controller. Since separating in 2012, she’s been in the legal field as a Paralegal and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration through UC Davis. Although she has only been riding a year, she has done several track days on her personal Ninja 400. What Michelle lacks in motorcycle experience she makes up for in nutrition and athletic knowledge. She is an accomplished triathlete, trail runner and cyclist. She has competed in race distances ranging from short sprint races all the way up to Half Ironman distance. Her proudest moments were completing the Ironman Lake Tahoe 70.3 and the Lover’s Leap of Faith 18 mile trail race. She plans to make use of her athletic and nutrition knowledge by making sure our FLAP faithful get the best quality hydration, nutrition, and support in our FLAP hospitality area.

"I love the confidence that I have developed on the track on my Ninja 400. I can't wait to share that experience with you!" ~MRP

Meet Mario

Mario Pernetti has been riding motorcycles for 37 years. The last 17 of them in California. Prior to that he was in New England and the Pacific Northwest. He has riden street and dirt, but his true passion has become riding on the track. Mario has worked in the motorcycle industry for 8 years in a variety of roles from sales, marketing to mechanic. Mario is currently working for SunRun solar by day but he is the lead mechanic for Feel Like A Pro by night and track weekends. He served as Ryan’s Crew Chief during the 2019 AFM season and fell in love with being at the track. This made him a natural fit for the FLAP family. Mario has owned a Ducati monster 800, Ducati 848, Ducati 1098S, Klx 125, TTR 125L, CRF 50, CRF 80, CRF 230, Honda Hurricane 600, VFR750, Honda Shadow 750, Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster
